Get Rid of the Doubters

Updated: Oct 3, 2021

It’s great to feel confident, motivated, and excited to go out and do something, but what about when you don’t feel any of those ways?

You are capable of things such amazing you could never even imagine, but you will never reach them with doubters dragging you down.

Your doubters are the people who when you have an idea, mockingly say “you actually think that’s gonna work?” When you feel brave, they point out every reason why you shouldn’t be. On the days you feel off, they remind you of all the things standing in your way and say you “you’ll never make it.”

You are a Product of What You Allow Into Your Life

You are a product of who and what you allow into your life. If you allow yourself to accept all the reasons you can’t do something, be something, or reach something, then it’s simple, you won’t.

Surround yourself with people who speak life. There are enough people in the world who will doubt you, and you can’t have them be the ones closest to you.

Here’s how to guard against the doubters:

1. Pay attention to how the people closest to you make feel.

2. When someone says something negative, hear them out, but don’t internalize it. We all know a downward spiral of negative thoughts can happen faster than we can even say the word spiral.

3. Don’t isolate yourself; especially since COVID, we've all experienced how difficult being alone with your own thoughts can be. And I know you’ve experienced the intrusive thoughts that come with it sometimes. Instead, surround yourself with good people.

If there’s anyone who will cheer you on, it’s you. You are your biggest cheerleader.

Play the part and continue to push yourself.

Thank you for spending a few moments with me. When it comes down to it, it’s so easy to spiral downward and believe lies about why you can’t do this or that. Realize that just like the things you hear, your thoughts and words hold power. Don’t give them the wrong kind. If you enjoyed this post, share it with someone who might too.
